Replacing silver fillings

July 29th, 2012
Q.

I am thinking of getting my silver fillings replaced in my back teeth. Is cerec fillings a good option, how long will they last?

A.

Many people nowadays are having their silver filings replaced, most commonly because the fillings have worn out, are cracked or leaking and the tooth is at risk of decay and cracks. Unless the filling is very small Cerec is an excellent longterm solution for the tooth. The all porcelain Cerec onlay, inlay or crown is custom made for the tooth, it will bond to the tooth, support any weak areas and restore the tooth back to its original form. Treatment can be completed in just one visit. The long term studies for Cerec restorations are very encouraging and we can be confident that good quality Cerec work will last 15-25 years if not longer.
